Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is used to help manage tension and pain in muscles. Deep tissue massage is ideal if you do repetitive tasks like office work, gardening or maybe you’ve a small child and your neck is tight from constantly looking down. These repetitive tasks can lead to tension building up and a nagging ache or pain.
Benefits
Reduce tension and pain
Enhances recovery of overused muscles
Improves posture
Helps prevent muscle tension becoming more persistent
What involves
What should I wear
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that is easy for you to remove, and pop back on after your session. If you are having your legs massaged, please bring shorts. But if you forget we have lots of shorts in the clinic.
Hydration
A good rule of thumb is to drink 500ml an hour before your massage session. And 500ml in the hour after your massage session.
Oil or wax Massage medium
We have both oil and wax. We can suggest which is best for you, during the chat we have before your massage. Oil is great for massage which focuses on longer relaxing techniques. Massage wax is a slight bit grippy and is amazing at loosening around tight areas like if you’re having nagging neck tightness. For a deeper muscle melting massage.
Maintaining benefits
Our therapist can recommend stretches for any areas that are prone to tightness from repetitive tasks, you can do those stretches between deep tissue massages to help keep you loose and mobile. If you’ve got a persistent problem that requires more than massage, our therapist can let you know if you would benefit from a physio assessment to find out what’s wrong.
