Neck pain - Glossop Physiotherapy

Addressing neck pain

Specialist care at our physiotherapy clinic

Neck pain is one of the most common things we help people with in the clinic. Most people aren’t sure of the cause of the pain, and want to know why they have it and why it’s not getting better on its own.

Often people come to see us after they’ve been to the GP, and tablets have not really helped. Or they have been to another therapist and were only offered a massage, which felt nice and relaxing but did not really help. So they have not been given the input they really need to get better.

We’ll help get your neck moving in a better and less rigid way. Our goal is to help you get your body’s natural movements back.

Glossop Physiotherapy - Neck Pain

You’ll get tools from us to help you manage your neck pain, and you’ll have those tools if you ever need them again. The good news is that it’s rare for anyone to need neck surgery now.

We do hours of CPD (training) with all our physios every week, so we have the most up to date ways to get you back doing the activities you love. If we can get you better, we will.

Common symptoms we help people with:

  • Referred pain – many people get symptoms towards their shoulder and even down their arm
  • Pain while stretching the neck
  • Pain that limits the movement in your neck
  • Ache from repetitive tasks
  • Nagging neck tightness

Neck pain is a common problem that can significantly impact your daily life, causing discomfort and restricting movement. At our physiotherapy clinic, we specialize in providing expert care to relieve neck pain and improve overall well-being.

Our experienced physiotherapists understand the various causes of neck pain, from poor posture and muscle strain to injuries and degenerative conditions. We offer personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs. Our comprehensive approach includes manual therapy, targeted exercises, and advanced techniques to address the underlying issues and provide lasting relief.

Poor posture, often due to prolonged use of computers and mobile devices, is a major contributor to neck pain. Our clinic focuses on educating patients about proper ergonomics and posture correction. We provide practical advice and exercises to integrate into daily routines, helping to reduce strain on the neck and promote long-term spinal health.
